Malcolm G. Keif is a professor and researcher in the Graphic Communication Department at Cal Poly State University (better known as Cal Poly), one of America’s leading universities for print and packaging. Malcolm oversees instruction in flexographic plating and press operations at Cal Poly, as well as teaches Quality Management, Printed Electronics, Cost Estimating, Packaging Workflow and Lean Management. He also serves as the graduate coordinator for the Printed Electronics and Functional Imaging Master’s degree at Cal Poly. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and contributor to numerous industry publications. He is the co-author of the books Lean Printing: Pathways to Success and Setup Reduction for Printers: A Practical Guide to Reducing Makeready Time in Print Manufacturing, and author of Designer’s Postpress Companion. He was named Educator of the Year (2004) by the Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation.
